Grade one students receive book from Public Library Service

Well-known illustrator Dušan Petričić, along with author Cary Fagan, will be visiting Charlottetown on November 7 as part of an initiative that sees 1500 books handed out to Island Grade One students.

The TD Grade One Book Giveaway Program is an annual initiative, supported by the Public Library Service and the Canadian Children's Book Centre. The program is intended to encourage literacy for young children and also brings great Canadian books to Canadian children, to promote a love of reading and a passion for books.

DAISY talking books service helps Islanders with print disabilities
Talking Book Service
Jean Walsh joined Education, Early Learning and Culture Minister Hal Perry to show her DAISY player and talking books from the PEI Public Library Service.

DAISY talking books are available in French and English through Public Library Headquarters' mail out delivery service or can be borrowed from the Confederation Centre Public Library.
